The Portfolio Manager Opportunity:
Sitting within our Global Technology function the Portfolio Manager will form the necessary link between project management and enterprise management.
The role of the Portfolio Manager is to estimate, plan, manage, execute and finalise sub portfolios (including multiple projects) within each project’s established time, cost and scope constraints through the complete project lifecycle. This may also include line management of Project Management staff within the sub portfolio.
Portfolio Manager Selection Criteria:
> Educated to University Degree level or
> Equivalent training in technology/Project Management.
> Extensive professional experience
> Extensive formal project / program / portfolio-management experience, including the management of large, complex projects
> Strong experience managing large, matrixed project / program / portfolio teams
> Strong experience managing vendors
> Strong experience managing technical resources
> Strong requirements gathering experience
> Significant experience managing global projects / programs / portfolios
> Formal project management or IT training such as Prince 2/PMP
> Excellence in PM standards and best practices.
> Strong problem solving and technical appreciation skills
> Excellent communication skills, both in writing and speaking
> Experience in writing or helping with business cases and plans.
> Full life cycle management including measurement of benefits realisation
> Ability to use metrics to demonstrate delivery of business value
> Committed to delivery/deadlines
> Excellent organisational capabilities; managing to plan, prioritise and deliver competing tasks whilst meeting tight deadlines
