THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Midweight Digital Designer to join our Multi-channel team within our Baker Street store support centre.

You will be reporting directly to and supporting the Senior Digital Designer, whilst helping to mentor and lead two junior designers. You will be responsible for creating innovative visual designs for homepages, promotional and social material, emails and much more.

You will need to have a strong creative flair, impeccable attention to detail and the ability to work across CMS platforms, with strong skills in all Adobe Creative Suite programs, especially Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

You will be a champion for the House of Fraser brand, ensuring the brand is consistent with in-store communications and across all digital platforms from desktop, mobile, app and tablet.

Responsibilities will include;

  • Design and produce web campaigns to support online initiatives, editorials, emails and banners
  • To optimise, upload and publish all designed content in accordance with website and online marketing publishing schedules and check updates in multiple test environmentsImplement the House of Fraser seasonal and campaign brand guidelines into an online scheme, considering web best practises
  • Design and build emails to support online and offline campaigns and promotions
  • Contribute towards accessibility, customer experience and usability best practise activities, flexing designs for the most profitable outcome
  • Maintain a strong brand identity in the directory, making appropriate amends seasonally
  • Maintain the image library from brands and maximise the use of all assets received to drive the online experience
  • Support external and social media sites (e.g. twitter, facebook, blog, iPhone app, brand micro-sites and Business Incentives etc)
  • Work closely with the Visual Merchandising team to understand key campaigns, commerciality and the company styles.

YOU

  • Thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver
  • Understanding of HTML and CSS, especially in respect of web standards image presentation and cross browser compatibility
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and able to interact with senior management
  • Good Organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, work at pace and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to apply structured thinking to the resolution of problems in a fast paced environment

Desirable Experience

  • Understanding of web standards and usability in respect of optimising designs for different devices
  • Understanding of JavaScript
  • Experience of working in a multi-brand and/or multi-category environment (Retail or a Fashion Magazine)
  • Experience of a content and/or a digital asset management system (Amplience, Demandware & Scene7 would be an advantage)
  • Experience of the disciplines of multi-stage online environments, such as development, staging and live
  • Technical knowledge of publishing animation and video
