Job Title: Bank Night Care Assistant
Location: Oakwood Court, Haywards Heath
Salary: £8.07 per Hour + Benefits, Uniforms, Meals and Annual Leave.

Our client's care home in Haywards Heath, West Sussex is currently looking for a Bank Night Care Assistant to join the team.

They are close to Haywards Heath town centre and near to the towns of Burgess Hill and Crawley. The home is run by a forward thinking not for profit they who provides quality, affordable housing and care services for older people across Sussex.

What does the role involve:

Work as a member of the team providing holistic care to all residents throughout the Home. To work the shifts (to include weekends) as stated on the staff rota.

Care to be both sensitive and pertinent to each individual's needs:

Help promote an environment within the Home that is non-institutionalised in its practices and that encourages and involves the residents in choice to promote and maintain wherever possible independence of living.

Objectives:

Promote privacy, dignity, and choice of independence within the safe environment of the Home.

Knowledge:

N.V.Q. Level 2 desired.

Skills:

• Demonstration of safe, caring practices.
• Demonstration of oral, written and listening communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to prioritise own workload and use initiative.
• Ability to work unsupervised at times.
• Ability to supervise other staff on shift.
• Ability to understand and adhere to the Equal Opportunities Policy.

Key Tasks:

• Act as 'key worker' taking a special interest in designated residents.
• Assist in the implementation of care according to residents individual care plans.
• Observe and record each resident's condition and the outcome of the care provided.
• Identify hazards and act accordingly to promote the health and safety of residents.
• Complete all appropriate documents in a clear and accurate way.
• Portray a positive attitude and considerate approach to residents and their families.
• Be sensitive towards the residents need for privacy, dignity and individuality.
• Respect a resident's beliefs including religious needs and their preferences, likes and dislikes.
• Maintain a polite and courteous manner towards residents, staff and visitors at all times.
