Senior Principal Hardware System Design & Application Engineer - Edinburgh

My client is recruiting for a Systems Engineer within their market leading Semiconductor and Power IC business. The System Engineer can be at Senior or Principal level, with a very strong background in hardware design and development, perhaps from a Semiconductors background. The Systems Engineer will be in a hardware role currently, but looking for the opportunity to remain technically hands-on whilst also taking up new responsibilities in a support role, interacting with international customers and building client relationships.

The Senior or Principal Systems Engineer will remain hands-on as a hardware engineer, but also work in close contact with the design, FAE, and marketing teams from preconception to delivery and beyond, supporting key customers in Japan, Korea, the USA, and India. This role is a split between development and support, with support making up around 50% of the role. Travel will be necessary for 25% of the System Engineer's activities.

The System Engineer will have excellent skills in 4 of the below areas:

*Motor Control algorithm development and implementation (BLDC, PMM)
*Analogue Signal Processing
*Switching and linear power supplies DC-DC 50-60v
*Automotive systems and requirements
*Semiconductor structures and power IC integrated circuit analysis, verification, and application
*Software programming
*Digital implementation/ understanding of RTL

The System Engineer will also have impeccable personal skills, including:

* A good level of self confidence in order to be well suited to meet with key customers
*Enthusiasm to publish technical documentation and articles to support market penetration
*Ability to support technical presentations with the marketing team
*Ability to identify new product development opportunities in line with business objectives
* Willingness to travel up to 25% to international customers
* Fluent English, spoken and written

The salary for this role will be dependant on experience, from £50,000 to £65,000. Company benefits include:
