An opportunity has arisen for a Junior Mechanical Engineer based in Shipley.

Our client produces cellular base station equipment for many international operators and OEMs.

Working as part of a multidiscipline team, you will be responsible for producing manufacturing drawings for CNC machining plus the generation of Bills of Materials using an MRP system. In addition you will need to produce manufacturing drawings for development jigs. All of this must be completed within strict deadlines. Salary dependent on experience.

Training will be given to develop the successful candidate to allow them to develop mechanical designs from initial concept through to production transfer using high pressure die castings.

Junior Mechanical Engineer - Required Skills and Experience:

• Proficient in 3D CAD, Solidworks ideal.

• Proficient in generation of 2D manufacturing drawings.

• Use of MRP system, such as Sage or Agile, to generate Bills of Materials.

• Acquaintance with ROHS, CE, IEC an UL directives and standards.

• Ability to work well in a team.

• Familiarity with production and assembly processes.

Junior Mechanical Engineer - Desirable Additional Skills:

• Knowledge of relevant engineering standards for engineering drawing and design.

• Experience in design for CNC machining.

• Experience in design for high pressure die casting.

• Thermal calculations.

• Familiarity with RF / Microwave design.

• Understanding of electronics.

• Understanding of material properties and corrosion.
