Senior Embedded Software / Firmware Design Engineer - Surrey

An excellent opportunity for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join a global leader in wireless and positioning semiconductors for the automotive, industrial and consumer market which enable people, vehicles and machines to locate their exact position and wirelessly communicate via voice, text or video.

You will be joining an Embedded Software team who are responsible for the design, development and implementation of the global positioning system receiver firmware. Within this team you will primarily concept, define and characterize hardware capabilities in cooperation with other teams. The work will also include FPGA prototyping and some software maintenance.

Your background should include -

*Strong embedded C programming experience
*Experience in FPGA prototyping
*Knowledge in Assembler (ARM) and VHDL
oUse of Subversion or other version control system
*A BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

Experience in any of the following would be a bonus -

oProgramming standard communication interfaces (e.g. SPI, UART)
oGlobal Positioning Systems theory and practice
oVHDL, chip definition, design and characterization
