Your main responsibilities as a Software Engineer:

BAE Systems Electronic Systems is responsible for hugely complex and innovative undertakings and we require an enthusiastic and talented Software Engineer to join us in our Engineering Team. Reporting into the Systems and Software Manager, you will be working as part of a project team developing world-leading, safety-critical airborne control systems.

This opportunity provides a rare chance to work with developing:

• Flight control systems
• Mission computers
• Heads up displays
• Helmet mounted displays

Working alongside a highly experienced, passionate and innovative team of engineers, you will be involved with:

• Generating requirements from customers
• Developing software architecture
• Designing, implementing and integrating this technology

You will have exposure to the whole development life cycle, which allows you to gain a broad range of experience of the engineering process, as well and interaction with procurement and manufacturing.

Your skills and qualifications as a Software Engineer:

• Degree or relevant other professional qualification in a discipline relevant to Software/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent in experience
• Embedded software development experience
• Strong appreciation of technical requirements capture phase of S/W
• Experience of UML for S/W design
• Knowledge of modelling tools such as Matlab/Simulink
• Software integration and rig-testing skills
• Knowledge of electronics
• Leadership skills
• Passion for technology

This is a full time role and will be based at our site in Rochester.

The job grade for this role is P4 and we are offering a salary of GBP30,000. We also offer a competitive benefits package.
