£7.75 per hour

Our kitchen team at Capel Grange Nursing Home delivers the highest standards of food to our 72 Elders, some of whom have specialist dietary requirements.  We recognise the massive role food plays in the lives of elders and strive to ensure that every mealtime is a positive and fulfilling experience.

Reporting to the Chef Manager, we are looking to recruit an Assistant Chef who will join our team, in preparing meals for residents; ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained throughout the kitchen and dining room.

Duties will include:

• Supporting the Chef Manager in liaising with staff to produce nutritious, high quality, well presented meals to all elders on a daily basis
• Deputising for the Chef Manager in their absence, overseeing the work of the catering staff and general kitchen management.
• To set by personal example, excellent food standards.
• Work to Health and Safety and environmental health standards.

You will enjoy working in a team and have a positive attitude to supporting your colleagues and the elders. You will also take pride in cleanliness and organisation on shift, understanding that Health and Safety and Food Safety are essential in the workplace. You must also be passionate about food and customer service, ideally have worked in a similar role and be willing to work some weekends.

An Enhanced DBS check will be carried out for this post.
