We have an exciting opportunity for an Area Manager to join our team based in North London. The role is on a permanent, full time basis and is paying a competitive salary.

Area Manager - Role Purpose

The Area Development Manager is accountable for achieving and exceeding all KPIs. They develop ways of driving performance in their Area through leading, managing and growing their team.

They deliver KPIs through effective business planning, performance management, championing operational excellence standards and through maintaining strong relationships with Clinicians, Practice Teams and external stakeholders. They understand the customer needs and ensure these are delivered through constantly putting the customer first.

This role will involve working across a range of dental practices within a 40 mile radius.  These practices will include Luton, Waltham Cross, Ashburnham, Tring, Baldock, Romford, Chelmsford, Hayes and Barking.

Area Manager - Key Accountabilities can include:

- Produces, monitors and adapts as necessary a business plan by practice to deliver the agreed Area Performance Objectives

- Identifies growth opportunities backed up with a commercially viable business plan

- Engages with Clinicians and practice teams. Builds relationships through regular practice visits, 121’s and team meetings. Maintains the focus on performance delivery, KPIs and future growth plans

- Works with Regional Business Development Managers to ensure the Area is fully aware of the Company private strategy and that the practices’ private targets are planned

- Ensures that all Practice Managers are coached, supported and recognised to manage and grow their teams and their business.

- Ensures a smooth transition of all acquisition practices into the Area

- Drives performance through effective Performance Management.

- Develops the Area Team and themselves, maintaining a strong focus on learning and development

- Maximises resources available. Utilises effective holiday and absence management.

- Builds a succession and manpower plan for the key roles in the Area including management and Clinicians

- Proactively builds and maintains external stakeholder relationships

- Delivers Operational Excellence

- Regularly monitor and review health and safety performance with Practice Managers

- Liaises with the Health and Safety team to ensure health and safety is implemented.

- Ensures sites have sufficient supervision requirements and staff competences in relation to health and safety.

- Strong leadership and people management skills

- Multi –site operational management experience

- Business acumen – analyse data and insight to develop commercial decisions

- Entrepreneurial marketing and business development skills

- Relationship management

- Influencing and negotiation skills

- Adaptability to working in the dentistry sector

- Investigative approach in coaching style

- Demonstrates a ‘can-do’ attitude – advocating and championing change

Round 1 interviews will be 30th September 2014 - Candidates successful at Round 1 will invited to an Assessment Centre on Tuesday 7th October OR Friday 10th October
