Multi-Site Senior Auditor - £25,000 -£35,000
MAIN PURPOSE:
To be a key driver in assisting and driving the companies reputation for first-class Technical credibility with our customers and throughout the Industry. Motivate and develop knowledge within the business with respect to retailer and legal compliance. Meet customer expectation and ensure legal compliance, and by maintaining exemplary standards of food safety and quality through the maintenance and continual improvement of robust quality management systems.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Manage a team of Compliance Auditors to ensure set schedule is met in full on time to support the business.
2.Drive and lead on enhancing supplier approval process from field upwards to satisfy legal and customer requirements. Manage a supply base audit system to demonstrate and maintain compliance, assisting in the resolution of non-conformances in a timely manner.
3.Construct an internal and supplier audit schedule. Ensure all sites are "audit ready" at all times, demonstrating compliance with customer and legal requirements including BRC, Customer, Soil Association/Organic, Red Tractor, Suppliers, Packaging etc.
4.Carry out the required factory and supplier audits as per the audit schedule for all business sites to demonstrate and maintain compliance, assisting in the resolution of non-conformances in a timely manner.
5.Recommend to the companies businesses the safety of current and proposed suppliers on the continuation or commencement of supply.
6.Constructive and timely feedback to sites, suppliers and the Technical Administration team the outcome of the audits, non -conformances and agreed actions plans with deadlines.
7.Quickly highlight any Critical non-conformances and seek advice from the company on these.
8.Undertake and drive the supplier approval process from field upwards.
9.Audit to ensure, pesticide, microbiological, water nitrate and other necessary testing is conducted and followed up as required to meet customer requirements.
10.Work closely with technical, growing, procurement and supply chain colleagues to drive a QA and continuous improvement culture throughout the businesses.
11.Develop and maintaining a close working relationship with all businesses, ensuring confidence is established through clear and timely communication, sound evidence and judgement and a positive attitude to resolving any issues which may arise.
SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
1.Office, factory and farm based environment.
2.Travel will make up a significant part of this role part of this role in the UK and internationally.
3.Working in a chilled environment (PPE available on request) as required.
4.Monday to Friday with occasionally weekend cover and additional hours to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications / Education / Experience:
· Minimum 5 years' experience in the produce industry
· Lead Technical Auditor training.
· Qualification in either pesticide or microbiology
· Qualification in produce industry audit standards of Field to Fork and others
· HACCP qualification
· Food Hygiene Training
· Customer and industry farm audit experience
· Competent computer skills including Microsoft Word, along with good report writing skills.
· Ability to adapt and drive improvements through complex supply chains.
· Ability to represent the technical function internally and externally.
· Ability to manage their own time effectively
