New Business Development Manager - Public Sector Accounts

UK - South

Our client specialises in providing workplace and business supplies globally across all business sectors and is one of the market leaders in their field. An opportunity is available for a New Business Development Manager - Public Sector Accounts to join us, as part of our Corporate Sales Division. The new business target area for the role will be across the South of the UK, which includes the South West, South East and into South Wales. The package on offer includes a basic salary up to £37,000 (DOE) + 50k OTE + car or car allowance, company pension, private healthcare and local benefits.

The roles main focus will be to target profitable corporate level businesses within the Public Sector, which spend up to £250,000 annually. Full responsibility for the new business sales cycle, which includes effective management and development of a new business pipeline through to securing new account wins, through various framework agreements and tender processes.

You will be expected to meet sales targets and objectives by effectively developing and managing a prospect database and building added value relationships with key business contacts at Buyer level and above.

Other key tasks/responsibilities include;

- Identifying and targeting relevant business accounts across within the Public Sector remit.

- Working strategically, to prospect and win high profile business accounts through lead generation to securing contracts.

- Responsible for all stages of contract negotiations, working with relevant frameworks, tender processes and e-auctions.

- To develop pricing & technical strategies, which will gain competitive advantage and deliver high new business activity and conversion results.

- Specific focus on all administrative tasks, ensuring all information is correct and reported efficiently.

- Working alongside existing business colleagues with new business proposals, where relevant.

Key attributes & skills required for the role are;

- A solid track record in B2B new business sales, within a corporate environment.

- Comfortable working in an autonomous environment and managing a hectic schedule.

- Strong analytical and mathematical ability, with good commercial acumen.

- Full understanding of business development strategies in a relationship-driven environment.

- Experience of developing and handling a pipeline of prospects.

- Self motivated, has historically excelled in a target driven environment.

- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
