Do you believe you have what it takes to encourage Primary pupils to achieve to their full ability?

Are you driven to become a primary specialist and looking to gain some invaluable classroom experience to bolster a future PGCE application?

A client primary school in Wandsworth is looking for a bright and adaptable Teaching Assistant to work across Key stage1.

This will be a full time role and be perfect experience ahead of a potential PGCE or Teach direct application.

Previous experience; whether voluntary or paid is an advantage and preferred and must be clearly highlighted and detailed on your CV.

You will be working with the low achieving children in both literacy and numeracy, which requires a candidate with the patience and commitment to encourage these children. You will have a mixed role, working in class in the morning and with small intervention groups in the afternoon. Providing great independent learning as a teaching assistant.

The school has a percentage of EAL (English as an Additional Language) pupils across all years, so any additional languages or EAL experience would be beneficial.

Recent experience is desirable but the personality and drive will be the key driver for the Head. You will have the added advantage of working alongside an established teacher.

Knowledge and experience within SEN pupils would be a huge advantage however is not essential.
The children are all willing and there are a few behavioural problems in the class so it will be a rewarding position for the right candidate. Additional experiences and skills in tutoring, Mentoring or relevant summer camps are an advantage.

The role will begin immediate, full time and for the full academic year. Please only apply if you can commit to this.

Interviews will be held shortly, so please apply immediately.

Please email me your full CV detailing all child related experience, including all voluntary assignments, age ranges and any experience supporting SEN.

Please send your CV to Amy at Academics or contact Amy on for immediate shortlisting.
