Design Engineer – Electrical & Software
Blackburn
Salary up to £35,000 p.a.
12 month fixed term contract
ABOUT US
Our client established for over 25 years is a market leader in the Medical Devices sector, providing integrated decontamination solutions to a global customer base.
THE ROLE
As a Design Engineer you will be responsible for the following:
• Supporting existing decontamination products that utilise microcontroller hardware, electro-mechanical interfaces and embedded software.
• Interpreting bespoke software operating systems, understanding their purpose and function, thus being able to fault-find and fix software related issues.
• Producing documents for electrical systems including schematic diagrams, BOMs and electronic design files for PCB assemblies.
• Supporting other departments with technical assistance.
• Building and testing prototype solutions.
REQUIREMENTS
• A degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and 5 years relevant industrial experience.
• Experience of software development in: C, C++, C#.
• Working knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS: eCosPro, FreeRTOS).
• Developed microcontroller systems with Atmel or NXP ARM core, AVR and PIC processors.
• Able to use electronic circuit design and PCB design software, preferably Altium Protel.
• An effective communicator and team player.
