Role Purpose:
Provide contract management support across the wider B2B directorate, for pre and in-life contracting requirements of business customers, contributing to win rate and sales growth. This includes ensuring a great customer experience, delivering outstanding commercial performance, high quality support and managing the client through the contract life cycle from drafting through completion of the negotiation process, and/or contract execution.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: (In priority order)
- Deliver Contract Management support and take ownership and accountability for the end to end contracting interaction and compilation of our business agreements and bespoke clauses.
- Drive contract life cycle from drafting through completion of the negotiation process, and/or contract execution. Manage contract change control processes and related correspondence requiring legal input.
- Prepare agreements for internal review and approval and ensures compliance with company policies as well as applicable laws or regulations.
- Assist in the contract negotiations, safeguarding our interests - provide legal protection and risk management advice to management.
- Drafting, evaluation and execution of contract clauses that reflect approved legal, commercial and operational negotiations.
- Analyse, manage and respond to customer terms maintain professionalism and integrity and ensure an excellent customer experience.
- Manage virtual teams made up of specialists from within internal and client representatives to effectively manage the construction of business agreements and bespoke clauses to the agreed deliverables and timescales.
- Effectively manage the scope of the contracting interaction by ensuring any change to scope is documented, approved and communicated to all interested parties.
- Identify, assess and manage risks and issues to ensure the contracting interaction remains on track - liaise with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken.
- Take ownership of issues in escalation and solve problems that may threaten a successful outcome; manage them to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Actively promote effective working relationships, to ensure that all customer requirements are captured and met. Work collaboratively with all internal departments to deliver the client requirements on time.
- Clearly communicate expectations to the virtual contracting team members, other stakeholders and the client.
- Where required and appropriate attend meetings pre, post and during the contracting interaction to discuss and qualify client requirements and the business agreement.
- Provide input and support to Bid Management during the bid process to ensure continuity and a compliant bid is provided to the client - review and provide legal advice on tender documents.
- Provide input and support to internal colleagues following the signed business agreement to ensure an effective delivery of the entire business solution.
Key Challenges: (in priority order)
- Managing virtual delivery teams and 3rd parties whilst keeping the customer satisfied.
- Managing the complex & technical product portfolio as it evolves beyond traditional mobile into convergence and fixed line worlds.
- Managing complex legal negotiation (in conjunction with legal)
Core Competencies:
- Contract Management experience with a strong knowledge of, and experience with, laws dealing with commercial and/or government contract administration
- Good knowledge of technologies and the mobile and fixed marketplaces
- Strong commercial ability and acumen, and customer understanding
- Strong negotiation & influencing skills
- Ambition and motivation to succeed in changing and challenging environment.
- Outstanding communication skills - written and verbal to influence and inform key stakeholders internally and externally.
