Project Worker (RESTART)

Salary Grade point 18 to point 21 (£17,161 to £19,126) Full time

HARP is an exciting and innovative organisation for the homeless, which aims to provide accommodation and support tailored to the specific needs of homeless people in the Southend on Sea area to enable them to live independently within the community.

Our RESTART Programmes are designed to provide supported stable accommodation to those who are in treatment for addiction to substances and find themselves homeless.

The aims of our RESTART Programmes are to allow the service to:

• Break the cycle of substance misuse, offending and prison

• Gain/regain a stable lifestyle, re-integration and social inclusion

• Avoid homelessness in the future

The daily focus of the job is to ensure all service users receive support to retain their tenancies whilst working towards a program of rehabilitation either in the community or at a residential rehabilitation site.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Two years’ experience of working with vulnerable people with substance misuse issues.

• Good communication and computer skills

• The ability to remain calm in a crisis and deal with all incidents in a professional manner

• Have the skills to run meaningful activity groups.

• Have the skills to work both on your own initiative and as part of a team, with the willingness to work unsociable hours, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays

• A full UK driving licence.
