Award winning agency MediLink Consulting are looking to recruit an SpR in General Medicine to join a dynamic NHS Hospital in London
Hourly Rate: GBP60.00+

Job Title: SpR in General Medicine
Hours: As per rota
The expectation of the role is to provide senior support as part of a multi disciplinary team whilst participating in the registrar on-call rota. The post holder will also be expected to take part in out patient clinics related to the speciality and take part in multidisciplinary meetings within the department. He/She will carry out independent ward rounds with junior doctors in the team. There is very close cooperation with the team.
CLINICAL
•The main responsibilities are for the effective and appropriate medical care of inpatients admitted under the care of the Consultant Physician.
•The duties and responsibilities will be appropriate to the grade and speciality with appropriate consultant supervision.
•This will include the assessment, monitoring and initiating treatment, with colleagues and under consultant supervision.
•To provide care for patients attending Outpatients Clinics.
•Attend consultant and multidisciplinary ward rounds, and supervise relevant junior medical staff or students who may rotate through the directorate.
•Should undertake regular unsupervised ward rounds on the relevant wards to ensure patients are making satisfactory progress.
•Complete discharge summaries in a timely fashion
The post holder has a general duty of care for their own health, safety and wellbeing and that of work colleagues, visitors and patients within the hospital. This statutory duty is in addition to any specific risk management or clinical governance accountabilities associated with the post.
Finally, the post holder is expected to:
•Observe the rules, policies, procedures and standards of the trust together with all relevant statutory and professional obligations
•Observe and maintain strict confidentiality of personal information relating to patients and staff
•Be responsible, with management support, for their own personal development and to actively contribute to the development of colleagues
