Job Description for Fundraising Manager

Salary NJC 30 – 35 £25,984 to £29,823

Permanent full time (Flexible)

Job Role:

To manage all aspects of BMSTC’s voluntary fundraising activities and to be responsible for the delivery of the annual income target.

To develop relationships with new and existing donors and to generate funds from them as appropriate, to lead and co-ordinate our established calendar of events and to support other committed groups and individuals to do the same. To be responsible for increasing local awareness of our work.

To manage the priorities and work load of the Fundraising Assistant and to ensure delivery of targets.

Areas of work:

  • Events
    • Be responsible for the organisation and co-ordination of various Centre- Sponsored fundraising events throughout the calendar year to achieve income targets.
    • To identify, propose and test new activities in support of fundraising.
    • Provide agreed support and assistance to individuals or groups organising their own fundraising events on behalf of BMSTC.
    • Support with FR planning and budgeting and provision of updates and required reports as directed or obliged from the original donation.
    • Support and liaise with volunteers.
  • Donor Development
    • Build and Develop on relationships with new and existing individual supporters.
    • Maintain database records
    • Seek ways to engage further individual members and family in the activities and funding of the Centre
    • To ensure that any legacies received are appropriately handled and recognised.
  • Organisational Development
    • Build and Develop relationships with new and existing voluntary groups and organisations. In particular, to seek and take the lead for managing Charity of the Year relationships.
    • Support the process of making grant applications to Charitable Trusts & Foundations and build relationships where possible with their representatives and to report back on progress made – especially regards any restricted gifts.
    • To establish any needs or wants for capital items and seek funding as appropriate.
    • To make timely applications with a localised Case for Support to regional grant-giving funders e.g. Local councils, Mayors, Clinical Commissioning Groups, Rotary.
    • Develop and present as appropriate a Case for Support for local companies and organisations.
    • Maintain and use database records for making timely applications and reports.

 

 

  • PR
    • Keep BMSTC in the public eye by issuing regular press releases and participating in radio interviews and other PR opportunities that may arise.
    • Keep the fundraising aspects of the website up to date.
    • Develop and build a network of PR contacts and local celebrity supporters who are aware and supportive of the BMSTC purpose.
    • Organise agreed schedule of local displays and shows for the promotions of BMSTC.

 

 

  • Set and manage the fundraising priorities and progress of the Fundraising Assistant as well as line managing any personnel issues associated with the FRA.
  • General office and Centre assistance as required
  • Production and distribution of promotional literature as directed by the Centre Manager.
  • Proactively contribute to and reflect the mutually supportive, inclusive environment that exists with patients and staff at BMSTC.

 

Responsibilities:

  • To participate in the setting and to achieve targeted income in areas of fundraising as specified above
  • To identify any shortfall within these areas and have plans to make up loss in revenue where possible
  • To manage fundraising budgets and staff to deliver the agreed outcomes
  • To develop aspects of fundraising as specified above to maximise income
  • To report results to the Centre Manager and Fundraising Sub-committee.
