We are currently seeking multiple Medical Clerical Support Officers for immediate placement in the Cambridgeshire area.

This role is within a fast paced and busy environment, therefore an individual that is able to exercise initiative and work independently is desired. The candidate will have a variety of responsibilities and duties, and the opportunity to work within a flexible workplace. The candidate will be working alongside several departments in order to maintain the smooth functioning of the medical system, therefore being a team player is a key skill required.

Core duties would include:

* As a Medical Secretary, you will provide comprehensive secretarial, administrative, clerical and audio support to clinical staff in a specified division.
* The role will include the typing of letters, co-ordinating the clinic and liaising with both nursing and medical staff.
* Maintain absolute patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with Trust policy and the legal framework such as the Data Protection Act.
* Organise the diary of the appropriate clinical team, ensuring changes are processed in accordance with the Trust Access Policy.
* Take and process telephone calls in an appropriate manner. Telephone calls will involve contact with patients, carers and health professionals and may involve the provision of non-clinical advice.
* Sort, distribute and prioritise internal/external post, including communication by fax and e-mail. Requesting case notes as necessary.
* Manage clinical referral letters in a timely fashion adhering to Trust procedures.
* Generate correspondence, discharge summaries, reports and other communication by use of either audio typing techniques or other digital formats as directed, utilising the ability to accurately transcribe dictation, understanding the context and re-arranging as necessary
* Undertake duties to support colleagues including the Support Secretaries, in other associated areas at the request of and following discussion with, the Team Coordinator or Patient Administration Team.

* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Valid DBS clearance

* Competent IT Skills - MS Office background
