Our client require an experienced IT professional to join their team. This busy and varied standalone role would suit a candidate who is service driven, detail orientated, and an effective communicator. You will need to be results orientated with a strong will to succeed, and want to be part of a successful team in a professional company. You will also enjoy a "rolled up shirt-sleeves" approach to work, and be happy to work in a "hands on" capacity.
Main Duties
Hardware support
Be responsible for issuing new users with PC's, to include formatting and configuring and software management as necessary.
Add new users to various internal systems.
Maintain hardware such as PC's, printers, conference facilities and keeping asset register up to date. Complete repairs as required.
Managing hardware related resources such as printer toners, components etc
Support the management and control of internet access across the business
Uptime management (server down reporting).
Look after the companies Virtual Machines and organise them on VM Host machines (Hyper V for windows virtual Machines).
Back up and restore Virtual machines, servers and files when asked to do so.
IT Management
Maintain the Active directory and Permissions on the windows network and other systems as appropriate.
Monitor network resources such as shared drives etc and make sure there is enough room.
Help design new company workflows in SharePoint.
Ensure business systems and data is effectively backed-up.
Responsible for managing software licenses as appropriate.
Software Support
Act as IT support for staff including answering queries on Outlook and MS Office.
Potential front line support for customers on their products and relevant software.
Web Technologies
Development and maintenance of company website and intranet. Contribute design ideas to new projects and implement.
Other
Manage relevant resources to ensure smooth operation.
Responsible for management reporting to review operations and support business decision making.
Identifying and training a deputy for cover whilst absent.
Documenting processes, policies and systems with regards to above duties, and with regards to web activities.
Skills and Competences
A solid understanding of IT and in particular a windows based system
Understanding of Outlook, Microsoft Office, Active Directory
Web skills such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Hardware (ram upgrades, PC level board changes etc
Desktop publishing such as Quark, Photoshop, MS Publisher
