CALLING ALL IT SUPPORT TECHNICIANS!!


My Cambridgeshire based client is a specialist provider of IT security solutions software and services for all sized businesses and public sector organisations.

Due to continued expansion they are now looking for a talented IT Support Technician to join their growing, friendly team and perform telephone and remote sessions support for their customers and internal staff.

The job will also entail:

  • Post-Sales Technical Support on a range of IT Security products (including Sophos/Websense)
  • Internal IT support on Microsoft Windows based network/systems

Full training on the company’s product/service portfolio will be provided.

The company is located in picturesque offices but due to their location, candidates will need to have a Driving Licence and their own transport.

There are 6 main duties for the IT Support Technician:

1. Providing post-sales telephone support

2. Providing post-sales remote support
3. Provide internal support to sales, admin and technical teams

4. Maintain the internal network and its security

5. Provide support cover (via Rota) for the company’s managed service offerings

6. Personal Development

1 & 2. PROVIDING POST SALES TECHNICAL SUPPORT

  • Liaise with Security Consultants over completed onsite services and provide post service customer care
  • Provide telephone and remote support to customer base for the security products and services within the company portfolio
  • Respond to technical support issues raised by customers, where necessary liaising with vendor/distributor, Technical Support teams, ensuring the issue is resolved or closed to customer satisfaction and using the call logging system
  • Flag outstanding or more serious calls to the Technical Director

3. PROVIDE INTERNAL SUPPORT TO SALES/TECHNICAL TEAMS

  • Assist sales, technical and admin teams with computer/network related issues

4. MAINTAIN THE INTERNAL NETWORK AND ITS SECURITY

  • Ensure the security and integrity of the company’s internal computer network
  • Ensure company data is securely backed up and can be restored in the event of a disaster

5. PROVIDE SUPPORT COVER (VIA ROTA) FOR MANAGED SERVICE SOLUTIONS

  • Provide telephone and remote support as part of a rota system for managed service solutions
  • Attend customer sites as part of the support cover if required

6. PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

  • To take responsibility for your personal development and to keep up with current relevant issues relating to your job, department and the business

Requirements for this position include:

  • Good communication skills
  • Positive can-do attitude and a wiliness to learn/go the extra mile

Any qualifications or previous experience with IT systems would be an asset, although this position would also suit candidates with a relevant IT qualification looking to start their career.
