Who we are….
Places for People is a residential – led property management, regeneration, leisure and development organisation with an asset base of £3 billion and a turnover of £485 million. We are a not-for-dividend business and invest our profit back into the communities in which we work. We believe that people should be able to live in a sustainable place where they and their families can prosper. What makes us stand out is the breadth of our activity and our emphasis on long-term involvement with communities.
About you….
Places for People is now looking to appoint two Development Directors, one will take a strategic lead on Development Projects in England and the other will focus on the development and delivery of Retirement Villages.
Ideally you will be degree educated (or equivalent) with an appropriate professional qualification. You will have experience of operating at a senior level within an environment where you have built and sold houses on a speculative basis. You should have a proven track record in successfully managing major capital/revenue investment programmes that include the delivery of major mixed tenure projects.
Your drive and vision will be complemented by excellent judgment, a commitment to the Group’s values and principles and a passion for delivering a first class customer service.
Your experience and knowledge will be vast and include: The ability to prepare and implement complex business plans; full and detailed understanding of the development process and related legal implications; the ability to analyse and prepare detailed risk maps; excellent knowledge of funding mechanisms for social housing and the ability to set and monitor complex budgets
This role is not for everyone, as traditional ways of thinking and working will not automatically translate to our business model. Instead we are looking for flexibility, imagination and yet grounded pragmatism. Reporting directly to the Group Director of Developments, you will have experience of operating at both a strategic and operational level.
The Opportunity….
A unique role to support an organisation at a key stage in its strategic development.
These duties will be discharged in alignment with our core principles of Support, Positivity, Integrity, Respect, Innovation and Togetherness.
We are a national organisation and as such travelling is a prerequisite for this role although much of your time will be spent in London.
You will be required to complete a pre-employment questionnaire following an offer of employment.
