Ruislip High School is situated in the London Borough of Hillingdon and is close to excellent transport links. It occupies newly opened buildings on a green field site and is served by good primaries. The school opened in September 2006 for one hundred and fifty Year 7 students; the expansion of the school has continued with the Year 7 intake increasing to one hundred and eighty students in September 2012.

We are now looking to appoint the following support staff.

English Graduate Teaching Assistant

Reports to SENCO
Salary Scale 4 £14,119.58 per annum
Hours 31.25 hours per week 8.15 – 15.00 term time only + training days (until end July 2015)

We are looking for an English Graduate Teaching Assistant who will work under the guidance of teaching staff within the English Faculty, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom. Candidates will help to support the Teaching and Learning of our students in English classes.

The work will include the supervision of whole classes occasionally during the short-term absence of teachers, the primary focus will be to maintain good order and keep students on task, respond to questions and generally assist students to undertake set activities. In particular, you will be required to work with students who have behavioural needs and Autistic Spectrum Disorder. You would also need to attend to the physical needs of students with disabilities including moving and handling.
