AWARD WINNING AGENCY MediLink Consulting are currently recruiting on behalf of a Large NHS Trust in The Manchester area for a SpR in A&E
Hourly Rate: GBP55 - GBP70

Duration: 2 MONTHS
Location: Manchester
Job Title: SpR A&E
Hours: 48 hours per week
Duties:
Speciality Doctors are responsible to the Consultants and the Trust for;
•The initial management and primary care of the patients presenting in the department.
•Providing supervision, assistance and instruction to the junior medical staff.
•Maintaining the highest clinical standards at all times and in accordance with accepted good
medical practice and the various clinical policies of the Service.
•Arranging for the follow-up of patients treated in the department, including the follow-up of any
investigations performed and the taking of appropriate action in accordance with the results of
these.
•Transmission of relevant clinical information of patients to other medical, technical and nursing
staff both within and external to the department, regarding patients under care of those referred
to other places for further treatment of follow-up.
•Initial management of fractures including reduction and immobilisation.
•Performing minor surgical procedures and operations.
•Supervision of nursing staff in matters relating to the treatment of patients.
•Teaching and supervision of medical students, nurses and SHO's working within the department
Additional Duties: From time to time Speciality Doctors are required to attend patients involved in
accidents outside the hospital to give supportive care at the scene and ensure the safe transfer of
patients into hospital and are also expected to help in the efficient running of any major incidents
either within the hospital or at the scene.
Requirements:
•Occasional duties may arise outside the Hospital, e.g. major incidents.
•The Speciality Doctor accepts that they will also perform duties in occasional emergencies and
unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate Consultants.
•Speciality Doctors are expected to provide cover for the occasional absences of colleagues as
far as practicable.
