Working for a leading financial services business, my client is looking to appoint a Senior Project Manager, who will be managing one or more high profile and complex infrastructure projects for the business.

You will be responsible for progress control, progress reporting, risks and issues identification, dependency management, quality management, and resource management (human, financial and technical) throughout the entire project life cycle.

Duties will include:

  • Management of key stakeholders and project communications during project life cycle to ensure expectations are managed and client relationships maintained/enhanced.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to the Project Lifecycle and PM standards to provide consistent delivery. Any improvements are identified and communicated to the appropriate process owners.
  • Manage project budgets including staff costs, contractor costs, expenses and hardware/software purchases including monthly forecasting, accruals and reporting to provide rigorous project finance control.
  • Responsibile for the creation of detailed work plans for end to end delivery of assigned projects.
  • Utilise the approved PPM Toolset and processes to ensure technical resources are engaged and schedules to work on the assigned projects as required.
  • Manage project implementation including the transition from development/test to production environments using approved testing, change management and support handover procedures.
  • Manage external suppliers to ensure delivery into the assigned project.

Experience will include:

  • Prince 2 Practitioner accreditation
  • Experience of Project and Programme Management of IT infrastructure projects with proven track record of successful delivery
  • Knowledge of Service Management standards (eg ITIL)
  • Strong planner with solid working knowledge of project management tools - eg MSP/HPPM
  • Experience in creating detailed work plans for end to end delivery of technical infrastructure projects
  • Experience in managing project/programme budgets, including staff costs, contractor costs, expenses and hardware and software purchases including monthly forecasting, accruals and reporting
  • Experience of managing project implementations including the transition from development/test environments using testing, change management and support handover procedures
  • Experience of working in a collaborative team environment
