Transport Planner

Job Elements: -

• Efficient and cost effective management of daily / weekly despatch schedules for a fleet of vehicles and their loads per week. You will own all planning activities for full and part load consignments for direct and multi–drop deliveries in the UK.
• Creating and analysing transport routes ensuring commercial / cost viability.
• The use of planning software to turn strategic plans into executable routes.
• Liaising with the Planning team to plan daily and weekly volumes.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A strong understanding of Transport operations in busy multi-drop environment
• Experience as a Transport Planner or Scheduler who is passionate about managing internal performance and delivering excellent service to our customers.
• Strong organisational skills for planning schedules, journeys and loads.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels.
• Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience of Roadrunner, Paragon or other planning systems will be an advantage.
• A degree in a relevant subject is desirable, but not essential.
• SAP experience is desirable, but not essential.
