Student Support Coordinator (Disability) - Ref ACD14/07
Part Time, 0.5 FTE
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: £26,479 - £32,181
Working in the Disability team in Student Support and Wellbeing, you will lead on the delivery of work streams related to disability support services (for example coordinating the Support Worker Service) and facilitating student access to dyslexia assessment and support. You will have regular contact with disabled students (for example advising disabled students on how to apply for disability funding, access dyslexia tutorials and book appointments), responding to any questions or concerns about disability support and liaise with internal and external stakeholders about the support requirements of individual disabled students. You will also develop and implement systems for coordinating and recording the disability support services delivered to students.
You will have working knowledge of issues relating to student support in Higher Education. You will also have the ability to deliver high quality advice, guidance and information to students on a one-to-one basis in an approachable and friendly (but not casual or inappropriately informal) manner and always to the highest professional standards. Experience of developing and working with specialised processes, systems and procedures is also essential.
