Civil Engineering Design Co-ordinator

Able UK is a leading decommissioning, demolition and facility development organisation with many existing contracts nationwide. This vacancy has arisen due to the commencement of a major project to develop a new heavy duty quay at Able Seaton Port.

The requirement is for a Civil Engineer with extensive experience of site supervision of civil engineering works as well as being conversant with engineering design principles. The role will involve managing design information on site and ensuring that design services for both the temporary and permanent works are procured and delivered as required for the smooth operation of the construction works. The candidate will be responsible for managing all materials testing and compiling the Health and Safety File for the project. Site supervision duties involve ensuring the works are constructed in accordance with the specification and maintaining adequate records to demonstrate such compliance. The candidate should have a minimum of ten years experience of a similar role in the construction industry and be highly computer literate. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of highway and drainage standards and have knowledge of piling works. Excellent administrative skills are essential.

The candidate is likely to hold an ONC/HNC Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification as a minimum, but the role would also suit a Chartered Engineer.
