My client a leading provider of quality and safety certification services to a wide range of global and local industries and is now looking to appoint a dynamic Certification Manager to lead a team of engineers. They provide product safety testing and certification to a variety of industry sectors and require someone with ISO17025 experience to aid in their continued growth. It is expected that you will have hands on test experience with at least one of the mentioned concepts (ATEX, EMC, LVD or Machinery Directive). To be considered for this hands on role you will have the ability to lead, mentor and motivate a team of engineers as well as be able get involved in the certification/test work as well.

You will be responsible for technical, operations and business development activities.
Safety and performance testing to BS EN 61347, BS EN 60598, BS EN 61010, BS EN 60335 for European and US/Canada requirements.
Accountable for leading, directing and managing site operations for Electrical Safety to ensure consistent high level service quality and customer satisfaction.
You will be charged with running a profitable and cost efficient operation and maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures as well as maintain UKAS accreditations. Ensuring streamlined service operations, eliminating unnecessary costs
Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff
Personally coach, train and mentor supervisors
Provide career development opportunities through training and quality management activities.
Communicate company goals to department employees.
Ensure that employees are both results-oriented and team-focused.
Ensure successful set-up and delivery of new service lines

Essential Skills
* University degree in a technical or scientific discipline. (Other educational qualifications such as an HND or equivalent qualification may be considered, depending on suitable professional experience)
* Extensive medical safety testing experience in accordance with the EN/IEC/UL series of test standards
* IT skills using the Microsoft Office suite of programmes
* Technically capable, confident and dynamic, with a commitment to 'get the job done'
* Willing to work off-site
* Numerate and literate in English

Desirable Skills
* Engineering degree in Medical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or Computer Science
* Man management experience
* Experience in quality management related activities
* Knowledge of global certification procedures
* Awareness of risk analysis techniques
* Technical sales / business development experience
* Knowledge of standards and test laboratory quality & operating procedures
