The postholder must have experience in delivering Learning and Training Programmes:

1. Planning, implementation, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of learning and assessment of programmes delivered to Motor Vehicle learners
2. Delivery of Competency based work based learning programmes including Apprenticeships to include assessment of competence
3. Developing and supporting learners to gain Functional Skills at levels 1 and 2 and qualifications at Levels 2, and 3 in Motor Vehicle

The development of effective relationships is critical within this post. Externally the post holder needs to engage quickly with learners & employers, build trust and credibility, and maintain on-going relationships. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are vital. Internally the post holder needs to work seamlessly with their colleagues to provide a fully joined up programme.

Qualifications Required:

- An assessor qualification, such as A1 or TAQA
- Teaching qualification, such as PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS or equivalents, be working towards one.
- GCSE grade C or above qualifications in English and Maths.

Skills Required:

- Excellent facilitation, mentoring and interpersonal skills in leading groups of learners
- Ability to probe and challenge the learners understanding and overcome barriers
- Excellent record keeping and report writing which have a high level of detail
- Ability to make judgements about the progress of learners, in discussion learner and employer.
- Works well as a team member and can work autonomously using own initiative, whilst reporting any concerns/outcomes to the Programme Manager
- Computer literate, and possess excellent presentation and training skills.

Knowledge/Experience Required:

- Sound practical experience as a Motor Vehicle Trainer and Assessor
- Strong track record of high achievement rates with learners on work based learning programmes
- Experience as an internal verifier is preferable although not essential
- Experience of delivering Key Skills or Functional Skills would be a distinct advantage.
- Experience at working to a supervisory level within the Motor Vehicle sector is desirable.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

- To design and deliver learner workshops, off-the-job training programmes and assessments of learner competence as appropriate; agree personal development plans; take learners through an apprenticeship training programme; Training to groups of learners working within motor vehicle; support learners enabling them to pass their functions skills (Maths and English) as part of the Apprenticeship programme; undertake learner reviews, maintain accurate records. Provide feedback to employers on learner progress
- Assist employers with the implementation of qualifications; developing/supporting staff who act as expert witnesses; employer/learner records maintained and update to required standard
