Our Client is a fast growing telecommunications company based in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. They are partnering with top international telecom names in the market and selling into the SME and Corporate markets. As a result of rapid growth they are currently looking to hire an experienced Finance Manager to manage a small finance team as well as maintain the financial duties for the continued growth of the business.

The Role of a Finance Manager

The role is focused on day to day management accounts, the financial management of projects and all aspects of cash flow management. They are looking for someone to manage a team of 4 in the finance team and also producing day to day accounts functions. The successful candidate would also help with implementation and streamlining processes and procedures with the Operations Manager as the business grows.

Main Responsibilities of the Finance Manager:

  • Day to day control of the finance function, managing and development of a team of 4.
  • Preparation of management accounts .
  • Managing accounts including budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management; preparation of reports as and when needed.
  • Analysis of monthly business performance and comparing against budgets and objectives.
  • Collate and present information required for the interim and year end audits.
  • Re-forecasting the sales, profit and loss and cash flow during the year.
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT return and submissions to HMRC.
  • Overseeing the Sales and Purchase Ledger functions of the company.
  • Monthly review of company balance sheet and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Submission of Payroll information to Accountants including information for year-end returns, bank payments and credits.
  • Maintenance of the purchase, sales and nominal ledgers.
  • Review and improve financial controls across the business
  • Preparation of the yearly budget including Profit and Loss, Balance sheet and Cash Flow.
  • Provide financial input into the company strategy, assist in the production of business plans, annual budgets and forecast updates.

As a Finance Manager you should possess:

  • Qualifications - CIMA/ACCA is desirable but NOT essential
  • Hands on experience in finance gained within an SME commercial business including management accounts, bank reconciliation's, VAT, payroll etc.
  • Dynamic , ambitious personality ideally with previous people management experience.
  • Competent in using Sage software.
  • Advanced Excel Knowledge and skills
