The Libraries, Research and Learning Resources (LRLR) department deliver services to the student and academic community of over 50,000. As part of an exciting transformation programme the department is making significant improvements to how the student, teacher and academics engage with services and aim to provide a more innovative user experience.

Job Purpose

As part of this transformation LRLR are seeking an experienced Project Manager/Business Analyst who working with the senior management team will help shape and deliver a range of transformation projects that will improve the services provided by LRLR.

Job Responsibilities

As part of this programme of change you will work in partnership with the Associate Director for Strategy and Planning and the Programme Manager to understand the current and future user and business requirements of the services provided by LRLR. You will work with a broad stakeholder community to help define, plan and manage multiple projects that will contribute to the development of library services, LRLR strategy, communication and engagement.

Core Skills

A formal degree or equivalent qualification/relevant experience
Experience of formal business analysis including gathering user requirements and reviewing business processes.
Previous background in managing projects ideally within a formal Prince 2/MSP environment
Experience of working with a broad range of stakeholders across diverse professional backgrounds
Ability to translate requirements into use cases, requirements catalogues and/or service development specifications
Ability to work under pressure, prioritise work and deal with unforeseen issues
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools

Communication

You will be a self-motivated and dynamic individual who is able to challenge and influence others, develop and maintain collaborative working relations across a range of departments
High level, proven inter-personal and communication skills are essential
