Risk Reporting Production Analyst - SQL

As a Risk Reporting Production Analyst within our GreenPackage Analytics Support team (GPAS) your responsibilities include understanding risk analytics on our Fixed Income, equity and alternatives products to help our clients and portfolio managers understand their portfolio exposures, strategy, risk and returns. GPAS provides the daily risk reporting and ad-hoc analytical support to over $9 trillion worth of assets under risk management across thousands of portfolios. Analysts will gain a broad understanding of the asset and risk management business, which includes learning about the wide range of securities our clients trade, how they are priced in the market, how we analyse them within BlackRock Solutions and what sensitivities they have to various market factors.

It will be your responsibility to release the GreenPackage risk and exposure reports to our clients according to pre-defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs). In most cases the SLAs are early morning deadlines and as such the role commands workings hours that are skewed to accommodate this. The role will also involve using your technical skills to develop in-house tools (with GUIs or command-line interfaces), and to automate processes with scripts and macros, and to efficiently query information from a vast database.

The Skills and Qualifications required of an Analyst in GPAS include:

A strong interest in investment finance and be keen to gain a working knowledge of fixed-income, equity and derivative instruments (if not already familiar with them).

Technical skills - SQL knowledge is essential and also programming ability.

Experience with Unix and web technologies (HTML, XML/JSON, CSS, Javascript, web-apps) would be very useful.

Excellent communication skills - written and verbal skills are key in this fast paced environment and are essential when communicating to teams based in various time zones around the world.

Must be detail orientated, possess initiative and work well under pressure. This is a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.

Team Player - contributing as part of a team is key to meeting our deadlines and client expectations in an entrepreneurial and team oriented environment

Creative ideas and input are expected and sought from everyone involved.

Following global markets on a daily basis to understand how macro-economic factors affect the portfolios risks and investment decisions

You must be able to work multiple shifts at different times throughout the year. The role typically starts at 07:00 GMT from Monday to Friday and finishes between 15:00 and 16:00 but may be later due to the demands of the role.

Understand client objectives, trading strategies and market events to effectively respond to client requests.
