Production Manager - Leading Sports Nutrition Products Producer

£40,000 pa + Company Bonus Scheme

**Candidates will need to come from the food / pharmaceutical production background**

We are award winning, online retailer of sports nutrition products with a growing international presence.

We have an immediate vacancy for a talented and driven production manager directly reporting to the Managing Directors and will have full responsibility for product manufacturing including pre-production planning and control/supervision of the production department (currently 14 members of staff including 2 shift supervisors); ensuring that all products are produced efficiently and to the highest quality.

Your role will include the following key responsibilities:

> Overseeing the whole production department and drawing production schedules and timescales according to demand and forecasts

> Ensuring production is cost effective and wastage is kept to a minimum

> Forecasting and agreeing budgets and timescales in relation to production

> Responsible for quality control management and monitoring product standards

> Responsible for implementing processes to ensure maximum production efficiency

> Identifying human and material resources

> Ultimately responsible for maintenance of production equipment and machinery; developing schedules for both maintenance and cleaning

> Monitoring production processes and working with supervisors to devise ways to make production most efficient and cost effective meeting the demands of the business

> Ensuring all company policies and procedures are followed at all times by the production team

> Taking full responsibility for health and safety and food safety in the clean rooms and responsible to the FSA and Trading Standards during audits

> Delegation of work to supervisors and ensuring that both supervisors are hitting targets and effectively managing their teams

> Reviewing employees’ performance and leading disciplinaries when necessary

> Identify training needs and career progression

> Attending meetings with management within the company and also organising meetings within department when required

> Liaising with managers and suppliers

You should be able to demonstrate the following:

> Proven and extensive experience in a management role within a food / pharmaceutical production environment with strong technical knowledge of production line processes

> Confidence and exceptional interpersonal skills that positively motivates; team work and collaboration is essential

> Excellent organisational skill with the ability to plan ahead and manage time

> Problem solving and decisive attitude

> Professionalism and punctuality

> Report preparation and managing budgets experience

> Intermediate or above proficiency on Microsoft software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook

> Qualifications in Health and Safety and Food Safety and good working knowledge of best practice

Core working hours will be Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm.

You may have worked in the following capacities: Food Manufacturing Production Manager, Food Production Manager, Food Manufacturing Manager.
