A hard working and dedicated LSA is required to work in a SEN school with a variety of pupils.

Ideally you will have worked in a SEN school previously, however you may have also worked as a LSA in a mainstream school assisting SEN pupils. This SEN school is focused on progressing all of its students, developing their physical, emotional, social and academic abilities.

Ideally you will have a variety of experience working with pupils who all have different needs. This school is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant with a mixture of skills including Makaton, PECS, TEEACH and experience working with children who have challenging behaviour.

The students in this school will require additional pastoral and emotional care, the LSA hired should be highly trained, but will also be caring and have an ability to make students feel at ease and happy. The pupils at this school have a variety of needs from those with moderate and severe learning difficulties to some having profound, multiple learning and complex health problems. This position requires an experienced LSA who is looking for a challenging but rewarding role.

The role itself will be a mixture of supporting small groups, to 1:1 work, this will include supporting the Class teacher with the preparation and delivery of lessons. It is important that you are personable and friendly as you will be working closely with pupils, members of staff and parents or carers.
