Head of Life After Stroke Services, South and West Wales

Based in Cardiff

£30,715 – £37,686 per annum 35 hours per week

As the UK’s leading stroke charity, we want to change the world for people affected by stroke. We work with stroke survivors and their families; with decision makers and researchers and our supporters to get stroke the attention it deserves as the major cause of severe disability and the third biggest killer in the UK.

We are looking for a dynamic individual who shares this commitment. This is an excellent opportunity to work with members of the Senior Management Team in Wales to help maintain our vision and further develop our work across south and west Wales.

You will be a determined and experienced leader, ambassador and skilled negotiator to champion and develop our cause. Working collaboratively with stroke survivors and their carers, statutory commissioners, grant makers and other stakeholders, you will ensure both our contracted and charitable services are right for people affected by stroke and secured in the longer term.

You will have a flair for social entrepreneurship and the ability to address the needs of the stroke community locally working in partnership with our beneficiaries.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills that allow you to lead and motivate a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, as well as a high degree of initiative and be able to maintain relationships and develop new opportunities.

This post requires travel across the area as well as to meetings around the UK with overnight stays. Travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with internal policy.

Closing date: 22 September 2014
