Position: IT – Junior Management Information Systems Analyst

Location: Stockport, Cheshire

Salary: £20,000-£25,000 (subject to experience)

CDL is a leading supplier of software solutions to the UK insurance sector, providing our clients with the competitive edge in an increasingly aggressive marketplace.

We are currently looking for a Junior Management Information Systems Analyst to join our specialist MIS team, assisting the development of our MIS solutions for insurance intermediaries and companies. You will also work with internal customers to help develop and enhance management information systems within the group.

In order to apply for the position of Junior Management Information Systems Analyst, you will have some experience in an MIS role coupled with data analysis and communication skills. The successful candidate will be highly computer literate, skilled in the use of MS Access and Sequel server, and have an understanding of business intelligence software such as IBM Cognos.

Scope of Job:

Consultancy: Assist with obtaining briefs, perform data analysis and produce project reports and presentations.

Problem Resolution: To provide assistance with the initial support for the client operation of the software

Software Development: To work closely with our software development team to produce and enhance the software

Sales: Assist Management Information Systems Analysts interact with customers and deliver MI Solutions to meet business requirements

Qualifications:

IT / Business HND Qualification Desirable

Business Intelligence software; preferably IBM Cognos

Experience:

Experience in a similar MIS role at entry level

Experience in using business intelligence software

A working knowledge of statistical techniques is essential

Proven ability in a customer service environment

A working knowledge of the Windows Environment and its associated applications

Use of IBM Cognos software (version 8 or above) is advantageous

Use of SQL Server is advantageous

An understanding of Data Warehouse principals is advantageous
