A Transport & Freight Forwarding Clerk is required to join a successful family owned Company. It has developed in to a multi-modal operator & has been set in to 4 closely run Divisions to reflect the diverse nature of the business and clients it serves. The 4 Divisions are integrated between each other which allows a 'One stop shop' service.

Transport - Undertaking General transport, Freight Forwarding and Warehousing
Heavy Lift & Projects - Heavy transport, Lifting & Project management
Marine - Vessel Chartering operations, Port and Ships Agency service
Consulting - Undertaking Route surveying, site access studies & reporting

The Company specialise in the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Heavy Engineering, Renewables and Civil & Infrastructure markets, transporting and moving difficult loads UK & Worldwide. They operate from their 5 acre site in Halifax, 10 acre site in Goole & 3 acre site in Grangemouth.

The Role. Working as part of the 'operations' team, this appointment will report directly to the Freight forwarding manager for the company. The role will include:

- Dealing with the flow of Road transport and Freight forwarding operations
- Transport office clerk duties
- Manage various facets of Road haulage and interface with clients and drivers

Experience required. Ideally, Candidates will have previous experience within the Logistics, Road haulage or Freight forwarding industry.

The candidate will initially be responsible to assist with Transport and Forwarding operations, and then develop to take responsibility and manage these functions.

They must be customer focused, have an attention to detail, be able to complete all necessary documentation, commercially astute and be suitable to work on a personal level with the client base.

Qualifications

- A level or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years+ experience in a logistics environment
- Full clean driving license

Office Skills

- Demonstrate ability to complete tasks, with attention to detail.
- Have a good understanding and geographic knowledge of UK and Europe
- Ability to record and report progress & development of the task
- High level of Computer skill and competency

Personal Qualities

- Flexible and willing to learn
- Effective communicator at all levels
- Build business relationships with colleagues and clients

Location

The role is based at their Goole depot, but may be required to travel between other depots or clients on occasions in order to oversee or manage some percentage of the task.
