Strategic Investment Planner
Bradford
Salary £32,901 - £44,544 depending on experience + pension + quarterly performance related bonus + 25 days annual leave
REQUIREMENTS
• A relevant degree (e.g. Engineering/Science/Economics) and/or relevant experience in a similar role.
• Good understanding of strategic investment planning with particular regard to understanding the relationship between expenditure, assets and service, in addition to an appreciation of risk management processes and risk representation.
• Data analysis skills and the ability to compile, analyse, interpret and communicate data.
• Knowledge of water/waste water assets and some experience in a commercially oriented and/or regulated environment would be beneficial.
THE ROLE
As a as Strategic Investment Planner you will develop the strategic investment profile for Yorkshire Water’s asset base. Your responsibilities will include:
• Analysing proposed investment opportunities in the context of the existing & developing Regulatory framework and to the Strategic Direction of Yorkshire Water.
• Assessing, informing and influencing the likelihood and scale of benefits which could be derived from future investment scenarios.
• Developing robust economic arguments to inform and secure investment in Yorkshire Water assets.
• Providing specialist advice to the business in asset management planning, utility performance improvement, regulatory advisory services, investment appraisals, water resources strategies and project finance advice.
• Undertaking investment appraisals, ranging in scope from individual assets (e.g. a single treatment works) to strategic plans for the water and waste water asset base.
• Ensuring any future investment proposals meet appropriate Regulatory and Audit guidelines and that any assessment determines the scale of cost and benefits that can be achieved.
• Delivering excellent performance by understanding how your individual performance links to achieving the team’s wider objectives.

You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to and engage with people at all levels. You will be a self starter, with confidence and capability to drive improvements in Yorkshire Water’s investment planning systems, processes and
methodologies, and will be able to develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships, whilst managing conflicting priorities and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.

Yorkshire Water manages the collection, treatment and distribution of water around the Yorkshire region, supplying around 1.24 billion litres of drinking water each day. At the same time we also collect, treat and dispose of approximately one billion litres of waste water safely back into the environment.
