Education Network Research Intern

35 hours per week during University Term Time only

Fixed Term Contract up to 19th June 2015

The University of Nottingham Students’ Union has a fantastic opportunity that would be particularly suited for a recent graduate who is looking to gain further experience and skills in the research field.

We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic individual to join our Education Network Department, to lead on the research aspect of a project that has been commissioned by the University, where the outcomes will truly influence how students are supported in their academic experience.

During the Internship you will:

- Be responsible for the planning and delivery of a project plan for the National Student Survey Project (NSS).

- Be responsible for selecting the appropriate methods of delivering research for the NSS project.

- Analyse existing NSS data to inform the project.

- Conduct and report on focus groups with students.

- Compile reports including recommendations to inform the strategic direction of the NSS project.

- Support the promotional activity required to launch the 2015 NSS survey.

- Attend meetings where appropriate to update on work related to the project.

- Deliver the duties and support the achievement of the Students’ Union overall aim, vision and values.

In this developmental role you will benefit by joining the departments established Research Assistant and become part of the wider research and insight community in the Students’ Union.

To be successful in this role you will build upon your existing knowledge of effective research methods, be competent in the use of IT (such as Microsoft excel), effective communication skills both written and verbal and have an interest in making a positive change to the academic experience of students.

Starting Salary: £15,186 pro rata equating to £10,463 per annum.
