Receptionist/Secretary required for a well established, private and independent Optometrist practice. Experience working in a private practice is preferred. Be prepared, this is a fast-paced, multi-tasking role.
The practice has been established for over 50 years and has developed a reputation for a high standard of clinical excellence and patient care.
The ideal applicant will have a strong medical interest and enjoy working in a busy environment. They will be well presented with excellent communication skills to interact with a discerning patient base.
The primary duties of the role are:
- To provide administrative support to the Optometrist and ensure the practice runs efficiently
- To prioritise workload including arrangement of appointments and maintaining clinic lists
- To deal with all telephone enquiries and interact with patients face to face
- To ensure all referrals to the practice are dealt with appropriately and refer to the Optometrist if required
- To liaise with consultants and write referral letters
- To use and maintain the optical patient management system
- To conduct invoicing and billing
- To assist with the ordering and selection of spectacles and lenses
- To maintain a presentable practice
