Assistant Buyer / Procurement / Purchasing

Our client, a full-service customer brand manufacturer, are now looking to recruit an Assistant Buyer to join their Purchasing department in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

Within this position, you will build and maintain close relationships with their suppliers, ensuring you deliver the best price for the business and take into consideration quality and integration within their local site. Working closely with internal departments you will seek knowledge on the product/s and services you are procuring and aim to drive cost savings through supplier negotiation, sourcing alternatives or gaining price reduction through volume. You will also take into consideration potential commodity feedstock influences as well as limitations around supplier production processes and contract caveats.

Working to critical timings, you will deliver an effective service to internal customers by obtaining samples, drawing and outlining agreements and you will ensure you meet the criteria of the brief provided. Additionally, you will drive and facilitate the resolution of issues with suppliers and internal departments as well as assisting in maintaining SAP master data records.

With experience in a similar role, you will have knowledge of SAP or an MRP based system. Project Management experience would be preferable and you will be able to work to tight deadlines. With excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, you will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and well organised. Strong IT skills are essential and you will be willing to invest time to be trained as needed.

You are required to hold a full driving licence and have the ability to travel, as and when required.
