Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker

Acute Need CIC have an exciting opportunity for a Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker to join their team based in Almondbury, Huddersfield on a part time basis. Offering a competitive salary of £7.50 per hour.

Working as a Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of Acute Need, a leading provider of complex health care. Reporting to the Care Coordinator, the Personal Care Assistant will be required to provide comprehensive support work to an individual with complex needs.

Key responsibilities as our Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker will include providing all aspects of personal care within the service users own home; ensuring nutritional needs are met, ensuring the welfare and safety of the client and controlling infection, cleanliness and the use of medicines. Conducting reports are essential to ensure effective, safe and appropriate care; treatment and support are provided to the vulnerable client in line with the professional CQC standards of care. In addition it is essential to meet the social needs of the service user, empowering them to become involved within the community. To enable inclusion, this role would be suitable for someone who could share interests and activities with the service users.

The Person:

Due to the needs of our client it would be beneficial for the candidates to hold a full driving licence.

We are looking for a confident, reliable individual who has a passion for care and a commitment to assisting our client with complex needs. The successful person will have relevant experience and qualifications in personal care/support work.

To become our Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker you will also need:

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships with numerous parties including the service user, the family of the service user, work colleagues and other providers of care.

- The ability to move and handle the service user.

- A person centred approach

- The ability to use own initiative, working both independently and as part of a team.

- To be able to provide the service user with support on various trips including abroad.

Applicants must be 18+ due to night work and personal care and are required to provide an enhanced disclosure and provide two references.
