Our client currently has an exciting opportunity for an Income Generation Officer to be responsible for the effective and efficient implementation of their policies and procedures for income generation.

In this pivotal role you will provide a fair and firm service to ensure that action on rent arrears commences at the earliest opportunity, thereby preventing the accumulation of rent arrears. You will undertake home visits in a courteous and professional manner and you will also attend court on behalf of the Group.

You must have a sound knowledge of the Welfare Reforms and the Welfare Benefits system. You must also have knowledge of rent collection ICT system. In addition you will provide cover for other members of staff within the income generation team, and on occasions you will provide cover for other staff within the Housing Services section.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of court procedures for recovery of rent, experience of presenting cases in court or in a similar setting; you will also have an understanding of computerised systems of administration. You must have a clear commitment to fill a demanding role, with an understanding and sympathy with the needs of inner city groups, e.g. young families, single parent families, elderly people and ethnic minority groups. You will also have the ability to relate to and communicate with a wide variety of people. Due to the nature of the role a full driving licence is required.
