Specialist Engineer/Fitter
Job Title: Service Engineer (Specialist Division)
Department - Specialist Department/Truck Mount Department
Location: Nationwide
Reporting to the Group service manager, You will have a proven track record as a Service Engineer in a powered access environment, with the ability to maintain all specialist machinery (Truckmounts / Spiders) in optimum operating condition and legally compliant, by servicing and repairing a fleet of machines both on and off site to the manufacturers recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Order parts from head office/ Manufacturer and manage repeat stock to levels.
- Ensure 6 monthly LOLER certificates are managed and in date at all times.
- Schedule 12 weekly inspections are in compliance with "The Road traffic act"
- Attend breakdowns when required.
- Work closely with Truck mount administrator to ensure machines are available as required 24/7.
- Ensure all H&S practices are enforced and maintained.
- Work outside normal shift pattern to suit the demand of the business.
- Sign off all paperwork, timesheets and job cards efficiently within a given time scale.
- Provide 24/7 cover and maximise product up time.
Requirements
- Previous experience with Truck mounted machines.
- Flexibility with regards to travel throughout the country at short notice
- Flexible approach to working hours.
- Experience in D.C. electrics, hydraulics and internal combustion engines.
- Full drivers licence prepared to obtain HGV.
- Excellent communication skills. (Verbal, Written & Listening)
- Commitment to excellent customer service and safety
- Ability to work without supervision.
- Highly Organised
- Excellent attitude to work - willing to go the extra yard
- IPAF tickets beneficial
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Fluency in spoken, written and comprehension of the English Language (essential)
