Management Accountant - Financial Services
ACA, ACCA, CIMA, Transaction, FX, P&L,
My client, a leading Investment bank, is looking for a Management Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis, in Birmingham. This role sits within the GBS team which manages the Profit and Loss (P&L)/Risk and Financial Control processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the performance of the month-end close for specific Debt businesses. This is a reconciliation based on the Front Office P&L versus the Back Office Ledger (SAP). This is investigated and appropriate actions taken to align the two systems, ensuring the integrity of the reported P&L and Balance Sheet.
- Management and articulation of the Balance Sheet substantiation to an appropriate level for Senior Management review
- Coordinating the validation of Front to Back reconciliations for all products (including cash controls)
- Accountable for the respective business Foreign Exchange (FX) Exposure Reporting
- Production of commentary for the month end Balance Sheet and P&L.
- Ensure Risk Weighted Assets/Financial reporting is reconciled
- Review Inter-company breaks for the management areas under your control
- Work with the Book Runners and Finance to correctly account for both existing and new structured trades
- Production of FANFA (financial and non-financial data) for the group
- Lead accountability for the month end close out meeting with stakeholders by reviewing KRI's (Key Risk Indicator)/metrics
- Liaison with external stakeholders to the Financial Controlling function
Requirements:
- Proven management experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to manage cross location stakeholders
- The ability to multi-task
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills(advanced user)
- A good understanding of banking products
- Proven industry/audit work experience
- Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with proven Post Qualified Experience (PQE)
