THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL SUPPORT OUR LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE TEAM IN ASSUMING THE FOLLOWING KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cooperate closely with Head of Legal and Compliance
- Attend local governance committee as required
- Provide general legal support to the firm
- Assist with management of FCA relationship
- Identify and mitigate legal risks
- Safeguard the firm’s reputation
- Handle client complaints
- Edit and check agreements and legal forms
- Responsibility (jointly with COO and other group and local functions) on risk and governance projects including Financial Crime / Operating Risk / Anti Bribery and Corruption
THE REQUIRED SKILLS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE:
- Degree in Law and qualification as a lawyer in the UK
- Experience in-house or in private practice as banking / financial services specialist
- Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)
- Good communication skills, integrity and consistency
- Personal organization (no admin support)
- Proactive approach and the ability to spot legal / reputational risks is essential
- Experience of GCC clients and business practice would be a distinct advantage
