An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Manager based in Cheadle, Cheshire to join an award winning company who produce bath, body products, cosmetics and beauty gifts. They have been producing the UK's finest body care products, from shower gels to body creams, hand lotions to lip balms.
As a Technical Manager your duties will be to:
• Manage the strategic and operational performance of the Quality & Technical Department ensuring the successful delivery of business strategy, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and objectives whilst adhering to regulatory compliance.
• Aid in the inspiration, vision, leadership and direction to the Quality & Technical Department to ensure the efficient and effective day to day running of the department in conjunction with the Global Sourcing Director.
• Ensure the quality and integrity of all manufactured products by continuous monitoring of all supplier raw materials, packaging and finished products.
• Overseeing in conjunction with the QA Inspector inspection of all manufactured products and components releasing all finished goods arriving at external warehousing and distribution centre, this will include the UK and Far East factories.
• Monitor the visual and physical inspections at the supplier’s premises against rigorous quality standards set.
• Take full responsibility for product release and to communicate all non-conformance issues to the supplier, agreeing efficient and cost effective resolutions to all product and packaging issues.
An ideal Technical Manager will hold the following skills and experiences:
• Educated to Degree Level in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Microbiology, Pharmacy or other relevant scientific discipline.
• Previous experience in a Technical leadership role with line management responsibilities.
• Fully conversant with Microsoft Office.
• Ideally have a proven track record of developing and implementing quality and technical strategies.
• Experience in cosmetics, fragrance and toiletry formulated product; previous experience of leadership and line management of multi-location quality & technical teams and working with UK Manufacturing Far East supply resources.
In return you will receive a salary of 32,000pa to £38,000pa dependent upon experience plus the following benefits:
• 20 days annual leave, plus statutory bank holidays, rising to 22 after 5 years, 23 after 6 years, 24 after 7 years and 25 after 8 years’ service.
• Christmas close period (using 3 days annual leave).
• Birthday leave.
• Bupa private health cover after a successful completion of 2 years with the Company.
• Pension scheme after successful completion of 2 years with the Company. Company contribution 3% of annual salary.
• Free parking.
