Electrical Design Engineer (Rail)
Main Purpose: Electrical Engineering Design for Rail projects (Must be aware of Network Rail Standards)
Ability to work across revenue streams within the department
- Provide Electrical Engineering expertise throughout project life-cycle (tendering/procurement/design/installation/commissioning)
- Preparation/modification of electrical drawings, specifications, cable schedules. I/O schedules and calculations
- Prepare Design Statements and Design Risk Assessments
- Assist with site queries during installation/commissioning phase of projects and brief installation staff on design issues
- Client interface/meetings
- Bid/tender assistance and occasional support
- External audits support
- Other adhoc duties
Competencies:
- Electrical Power engineering qualification, minimum HNC level preferred (degree desirable)
- CAD training and experience with AutoCad or Bentley Microstation
- Computer literacy with the Microsoft packages and other relevant propriety software packages (knowledge of electrical design packages such as Amtech Design Suite is desirable)
- Good communication skills
- Able to work unaided as required
- Good time keeping abilities
