Purpose of role

Plans, controls and manages the delivery of HR projects covering technology and business work-streams over the full project life cycle, to meet the agreed business needs, identifying and utilising the necessary systems and HR resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality.
Deploy relevant project methodologies, as required.

Key Duties

Scope, plan and deliver projects, to meet an agreed set of business needs, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality:
Provide input to business cases, ensuring they are robust the right level of business support and signoff is obtained
Cost, scope and plan projects, acquire and maintain the necessary resources and skills throughout the life of the project
Create effective, informed and highly motivated teams focused on delivering the benefits of the project through working with key stakeholders, SMEs, and other programmes/projects and teams to ensure cross-team cooperation and coordination.
Ensure projects evaluate the impacts of change on the operating model (process, governance, people, organisation, location, systems, data) and addresses the impact effectively through deployment of relevant tools and skills eg stakeholder mapping, communications, training, process design, organisational design.
Effectively manage scope, costs, quality, changes of requirements, dependencies, milestones, risks, issues, priorities, contingencies etc. to deliver the project. Typically medium complexity with inter-project or cross-organisation dependencies
Communicate and provide visibility of the progress of the project, escalating to the Project Sponsor and providing evaluated recommendations for changes
Ensure best value is obtained for the project including where appropriate, engaging with suppliers through the supplier management team and ensuring they are supporting the department in line with requirements
Ensure the project creates a closure report to incorporate learning into future activities
Work within agreed standards and methods to contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of Business Change approaches, methods and training
Maintain knowledge and skills appropriate to working effectively with colleagues across the business, including insurance and technology
Meet all the ethical, legal, risk and compliance requirements of the organisation
Champion departmental culture, processes and continually challenge and look for innovative and efficiency improvements.
Identify, own and manage the risks involved in running our business appropriate to own role, in line with the Dire Line Group risk framework. Maintain high service levels through the delivery of quality deliverables, assurance and appropriate assessment of risk/operational impact

Key Skills

Business:

Understanding of the Insurance business, HR Strategy and HR Systems roadmap
Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills

Technical:

Qualified Project Manager
Previous experience of mapping Lean HR processes
Knowledge and understanding of HR processes and systems
Experienced in release management of change in systems, particularly HR Systems
