Job Title:Electrical Technician

Overview

Follow established procedures and guidelines to maintain and repair the organisations equipment according to specifications and schedules following established safety and quality standards.

Key Accountabilities:
Repair, adjust, and maintain production equipment, machinery, or instruments to ensure that they function reliably and comply with process specifications.
Respond to emergencies, break-downs, malfunctions, and other operating problems to minimize disruptions to manufacturing processes.
Establish the origin of failure on intermittent faults and for process control improvements.
Work in a proactive way to continually improve technical knowledge and improve process.
Work to an established maintenance system and maintain detailed maintenance records so that recurring problems with machinery, equipment, or parts can be identified and addressed.
Set, calibrate, or adjust equipment, machinery, and instruments so that it complies with production specifications or instructions.
Conduct periodic inspections to evaluate requests for repair.
Monitor and review implementation of global health and safety standards to ensure compliance, and risk free production globally.
Undertake rigorous investigatory reports for defective actions/situations where appropriate.
Support Continuous Improvement activities in the area.
Work collaboratively with other team members and shifts to ensure effective running of the process.
Adapt /adopt the new methods of working and/or new technology the Company introduces and undergo training as the Company directs.

Qualifications/Experience

It is essential that you are a time served electrical apprentice with experience gained within a heavy process industry.
C&G Electrical installation and Electrical theory - or equivalent.
C&G Inspection & Certification of Electrical installations - or equivalent.
Certified to the 17th or 16th edition IEE wiring regulations.
Experience should include - Working on Switch gear, transformers, electric motors / circuits, distribution boards, HV systems (11Kva). An understanding of combustion equipment would be an advantage.
Precise, consistent work output is essential requiring patience and a willingness to handle and completing tasks to required deadlines in line with the specifications provided and have an awareness of health and safety requirements.
